My name is Heather. Living in the Midwest, and being a dog mom brings me much inspiration. The Midwest is full of beautiful scenery, and teaming with wildlife. In addition, the seasons bring new prospectives to the already captivating farmland!
How did I discover pastels? Well, my passion for pastel portraits actually began years ago while I was working with charcoal. The way art poured forth from the charcoal with so much life, even though it was all black and white, amazed me. Then, I discovered pastels! The flow of pastels, the color, the realism… that’s it! Pastels! Add in the ability to bring to life portraits of pets for people to enjoy for decades, and that’s how I arrived at pet and wildlife portraits.
Anyone with a fur baby knows how much a part of the family our pets become. As a dog mom, I find myself having full conversations with my own corgi, as well as comfort in his company! I’ve also experienced the heartache of losing our cat a years ago. He still as a special place in our hearts. I can appreciate being able to see his portrait on our wall.
That’s what I love being able to do for others.
